Born in the industrial town of Toledo, Ohio ,as a child Jens was very interested in art and all types of music. He grew up right along with the Hip Hop scene. Slick Rick, Eric B & Rakim, Public Enemy, Fat Boys, Beastie Boys, Cool J, Kool Mo Dee, BDP...and many more graced the tape deck of his silver boom box. He became an avid skateboarder and fine artist in high school. He was also in several punk bands... most notably "The Black Tuna Gang'' and had a small cult following.
After a short stint at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, he started to attend raves occasionally and developed a fondness for breakbeats and drum and bass. On a whim in 1997 he decided to start making electronic beats, so he purchased a Roland JP-8000 and the music programs Cubase and Rebirth. It wasn't until 1998 that he and DJ Tall began to team up and start producing. With DJ Tall's mixing ability and Jens's beat making skills the two formed a sound that is indefinable. After spending two years in the lab and making beat after beat, they decided to team up with Skymask and Grimazz (aka The Unlikely M.C.) to form the A.D.F.. The A.D.F. was a crew all about beer fueled rhymes and hard ass beats. In 2002 the A.D.F. crew decided to take a break due to financial issues. Luckily things didn't get so bad that they had to sell their equipment...and Jens and Tall were able to still make beats, waiting for the right time to come out of hiding..
Fast forward to 2005, In a time that the world has been taken over by complete posers and money grubbing bastards, The music scene is a barren wasteland of commercial garbage. DJ Tall and Jens Kenobi form Battle Fortress Records. Taking it upon themselves to give the common man a reason to stand up and take the money from the man, and get himself a kick ass sound system.
"I think the ladies appreciate that at least one part of each of my songs was done while I was in my underwear"
